TECHNICAL
DIRECTION
THE CHOIR BOY
In Fall 2025, I served as the Technical Director for The Choir Boy at UNCSA, overseeing the Scenic Carpentry crew at every stage of production. I led the greenlight process, managing cost estimates, building timelines, and overall planning. I developed the build sequence for each unit and made key technical design decisions throughout the process.
In total, I drafted nearly 90 plates for release to the shop and supervised both load-in and tech rehearsals. This project was highly ambitious, incorporating extensive CNC work and rigging systems. It proved to be an incredible learning experience and a gratifying challenge.

PRG LAS VEGAS 2025 TECH DESIGN INTERNSHIP

The first was for The Nutcracker with Nevada Ballet Theatre (Scenic Designer: Michael Raiford; Scenic Associate Designer: Nicholas Renaud). I was provided the designer’s drafting and developed the full technical design from there. These units were challenging and provided invaluable learning opportunities that greatly enhanced my skills and understanding, as it was my first time using Autodesk Inventor. I gained hands-on experience working at a high level of precision while engaging with the materials and fabrication techniques used in a top-tier shop.
My second project was the STLV Welcome Display for PRG’s Las Vegas offices. I was given a list of features to incorporate, including CNC-cut SEG imagery, integrated lighting, and a mountable TV component. I modeled and drafted the unit in AutoCAD, managing both the technical and aesthetic aspects. Designing and building such a complex piece was a rewarding process that strengthened my skills in both design and fabrication.

LES BELLES-SOEURS
In Spring 2025, I served as Lead Carpenter and Assistant Technical Director for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts production of Les Belles-Soeurs. Alongside the Technical Director, we completed the full technical design process in the two weeks leading up to the build. My focus was on the cabinetry and scenic units, working hands-on to ensure precision, clarity, and cohesion across the shop. The process was fast-paced but remarkably smooth, and the final product reflected the strength of our planning and collaboration.
